Hey guys,

Received my iPhone4 32gb today, first time i've used an iPhone and i was wondering, is it only certain formats of music that can be transferred on to it?

I've currently got my music library converted down from Apple Lossless to 256kb CBR AAC. I thought this would be acceptable but it's got the 'not allowed' icon when i try and transfer :(

What formats does it take?

Thank you in advance. :)

Still have it in lossless? I have all my music in lossless then tick the compress as you sync button. Takes ages to sync but it works.

Yeah, i still have it, but the idea was to convert it down, then once everything's settled i was going to delete that and keep the 256kbps AAC.

Apple site says...

Audio formats supported: AAC (8 to 320 Kbps), Protected AAC (from iTunes Store), HE-AAC, MP3 (8 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, Audible (formats 2, 3, 4, Audible Enhanced Audio, AAX and AAX+), Apple Lossless, AIFF and WAV

So, i don't get why it's not working

Is it because i have it at Constant Bit Rate (CBR) rather than iTunes Plus preferred Variable Bit Rate (VBR) ?

No, i used dBpoweramp, as it utilises all 4 cores on my processor so it's much faster.

Got 11k songs or so, so iTunes is damn slow and buggy too.

Sigh, it seems i'd accidently ticked off a certain option on the iPhone summary page.

I demand this thread be removed from the forums to save me some face :o
