It seems the new beta is no longer an optional interface but rather something hideous and confusing we all have to live with... If someone's found a way to turn it off, please let me know?

I have no idea why....I don't want to talk and read other peoples views on Top Gear or Sherlock

I only use it on my PS3 (Woo HDTV!) and it's always been easy and intuitive to navigate.

In fact, just checking the beta site now, it seems they have adopted the PS3 iPlayer layout. I don't know what it was like before, but it doesn't seem to transfer well to PC/desktop setups.

I've never looked at the beta variant before, but I'm quite happy navigating around it.

i had it on and it took me a while to work out how to get rid of it

I'll usually refrain from posting in such threads because my opinion is generally the same. It's a free service, if they want to facelift it, go ahead I'll still be happy to use it and they'll always focus on improving user interaction and experience to some extent. However, this is a step in the opposite direction. I hated it as an optional extra, i hate it even more now.

Seems fine to me, not much difference, just seems like they have moved things around abit.

It is probably a way for them to track accurately which demographic watches what and more importantly when (When given a Free choice like iPlayer does), EggFaceBook, ******* etc are all just disguised invasions of your privacy that like to keep track of everything you do Online and report back for the Corporate Advertisers, that's how they make their money.

Well apart from the few billion in tax that goes towards it...
