Hi guys,

Is it possible to record a programme off of iPlayer and burn it on disc etc?

And if so, how? I haven't used the iPlayer download manager in ages; does it download an easily convertible file or anything?

Cheers!

Almost sure you can't, because they are copy protected. When you download using iPlayer, you have a time limit on viewing, before it gets removed.

Yep, you don't need to download it with the download manager. Google get_iplayer.

Cool, and will that allow me to view beyond the BBC set time constraints?

I've found the file of the programme I downloaded with DM and its a .mp4. Can't I just convert that or will it have some kind of drm :(

Yep. I don't know of any way (and wouldn't able to link you to on these forums anyway) of removing the DRM from things downloaded with the download manager. Get_iplayer takes it from the open stream from the iPlayer website and doesn't circumvent any DRM.

This is why TV cards are handy, record whatever you want without any DRM rubbish and keep for as long as you want.
