Hi all, just thought I'd pick the brains of some of the younger members who frequent these forums.

My youngest daughter wants an iPod Docking system for her birthday in a couple of weeks time, now being an old fart, I know diddly squat about them so need your advice.

I've seen two in the store where 'every little helps', one's a Logic3 and the others Gear4, both are small where the iPod docks in the middle and on the Logic3 one you can extend the speakers out so the iPod sits horizontally.

She doesn't want a huge great thing, just something small that will sit on her bedside table, oh and she doesn't want a clock with it either, just the speaker setup.

Any and all ideas welcome, oh and price to about £100 - £110.

That looks nice.

To be honest what i always do when I want to buy a product that I don't know much about is just go on amazon and check customer reviews to evaluate my decision.

No one can help? ... Wow!

Maybe go walk into an iStore and ask someone? I got mine for £250 and it was a small apple docking station. I don't care about the price tag I just like having the apple logo consistently on my computer stuff.

Thanks for the replies guy's, will have a look round the rainforest site.

@niallroe: thanks for the advice, fortunately my daughter isn't a slave to designer logo's or labels, she's got more sense ;), ta anyway.

The philips one posted above can be had refurbed from eBay for £69, I bought the smaller one (Ds7550) from the same supplier for £30 and it's very good.

Charges the iPhone 4 whilst using it, battery lasts forever and sounds decent.

There's also the Logitech S715i, ugly as hell but sounds good.
