I am looking for some sort of ipod dock which hooks straight into an amp. Connections in to the amp need to be red/white phono for the short term and at a later date perhaps a digital connection (when amp is replaced). I cannot seem to find anything that does not come with speakers attached. Ideally me and missus want to plug in different model ipods.

I saw a Creative X30 iPod Docking Station but it is only compatible with two Creative type speaker sets.

Lastly, are all ipod connections the same as I am about to buy a new ipod, just unsure as to which one and want the dock to be compatible.

Something aesthetically pleasing would be desirable!!

Currently doing the rounds on the net for a new mini system and saw the Denon ASD-11R dock, not sure how compatible it is with other systems than Denon, but it does have L/R audio out but no digital.

Thank you. I have actually managed to find one that looked okay. I went with the Pure i10 with remote. Seems a good price too. :)
