I know its probably been asked a thousand times, but can someone help me out here.

I currently have the displeasure of having a Astra 1.4 SXI to drive from work until my ST3 arrives.

To lighten up my mundane drive to work i really need to have my tunes in the car, so as i can whack my ice in this car i need to find a way of using my ipod in there.

Oh and i know i have been spoilt with all the relative power of my mondeo, but my god this is one slow slow car, real pity as the chassis aint half bad.

But i cant believe vauxhall have the cheek to have a list price of 14k for this car, the interior is so cheap its scary, and it dont half drink fuel, mind it doesnt help i drive it like i stole it! it did 250 miles to £35 of fuel, not that much better than my old V6

14K ffs

Not much without getting a new headunit. Unless the one you have now has an input on the back

Then your only option is one of those crappy fm jobbies you plug into the top of your ipod and tune your radio to pick the signal up. I wouldnt recommend it.

Has the headunit got an aux in or cd changer?

If so you can get a 3.5mm jack which connects through there. Not idea but a HELL of a lot better than an FM jobbie.

Yep Cd.

Used an FM modulator years ago, didnt thing they were much kop tbh.

Oh well i might have to put punch some holes in the exhaust at least i can have some fun gettin that engine to 'sing'!

Just buy an iTrip. Job done :D Or a tape adaptor :D

Mine works very well but you need a mount on the windscreen really, or god forbid if your aerial is integrated with the rear window :( - no hope then!

Why dont you by one of those radio broadcaster thingys. They plug into the headphone jack and then put out a week fm signal so your radio can pick it up.

I shall once again utter the words 'fm jobbie' so people know we have suggested that many times already.

iTrip is pretty poor - radio quality
Tape adaptor is pretty poor - tape quality.

Find out if it has an auxillary input, £10 cable or if you have one lying around, job done.

Other than that, you can't do much else as it's a loan car. For your ST3 however, get yourself something like the Alpine 9850(i think?), integrated ipod connection/control. Job done.

P.S Lovely choice of car
