iPod Nano 3rd Gen Question

Hi there,

Anybody here happen to have one of the newer iPod Nanos (3rd generation)?

If so could somebody please do a quick check for me - when connected to your PC for whatever reason, does the backlight stay on constantly, and if so is there anyway of turning it off?

Yes it does, I'm not sure if you can turn it off.

I have iTunes installed and when I connect my 3rd generation iPod nano it sych's with iTunes and then ejects itself. The backlight is only on whilst it is synching, it drops into charging mode after that and the backlight is off.

If you don't have it auto syncing , you can also turn off(or eject) the ipod whilst its connected and it go to charging mode, with backlight dimmed.

Nah mine seems to stay on all the time even when it's ejected, it never dims. Took it to the Apple store today and they said that it could well be faulty. Added to the fact that i've also got 3 stuck pixels on the screen seems to point to me being rather unlucky

Must say though recently that I think Apples' QC is shockingly poor

And it's not just me that has said that, a few of my friends have been noticing it as well.

I was using Winamp to sync mine (Hate iTunes with a vengeance!).

Mine used to stay on all the time even when playing music... (I've got it set to 5 seconds)...

I installed iTunes.. Synced it and updated the firm/software... now when playing music it dimms after 5 seconds like it should!, and goes to clock/Battery after about 1 minute!... but when syncing with iTunes it stays on no mater what!!...
