Ipod nano

Yep, they just give those numbers as a rough guide.

For what it's worth, my 8GB Nano says I have 484 songs on it, 7.4GB capacity (always lose a little bit, after all), and 3.6GB available. A lot of my music is longer than your average song though.

I suspect most of your songs aren't 128 kb/s AAC either, and as you already stated they're somewhat longer than average.

Either way, I wouldn't drop my iPod for anything but a Zune currently.

Oh, and my 30gb video has about 2900 songs on it, using up 22.4GB. Well below the 128kb/s AAC variant, but mine are all mixed up bit rates.

Also, going back to your longer song comment, a 90mb 1 hour mix has the same mb per minute as a 3 minute 5 mb song, 0.6 mb per minute. (I think :p)

Nice one, what colour did you go for?

I personally think pink looks best. ;)

Black in the end - wanted red but thought I would put some (more) £££ into OC's coffers rather than direct into Apple's lol

I got my ipod nano today too :D I've yet to do anything with it. lol still tidying my room :P
do I have to charge it for like a zillion hours before I start to put songs onto it? cuz I do have a wall charger from my old ipod. what way will be the most healthy for its battery ??

Thanks

I looked on the Apple website when I got my Nano, and they said the first charge just needs to be until it says it's full. Nothing special there.

so I'll just plug it in let it update and leave it there untill its fully charged?

I think that's generally what you're suppose to do.

I should receive my iPod 8GB tomorrow, can't wait. Been comparing the Creative Zen and all but came to a decision of nano because of battery life AND because it's more compatible with my OS preference (OSX). Plus, managed to nib a bargain off the bay...

argggggggggggggggg I read somewhere they had re-designed the headphone socket into the top - and they havent

I had forgotten how much that used to bug Me - I cant see any sense at all in that design
