I am getting to grips with the iPod, it's the first time I have used one..

When I add music folders to the library they don't stay in their folder (annoying?) so I started creating a playlist for each album to keep them grouped

The problem is I want to use the iPod when I go out training and don't want to have to stop everytime an album finishes just to start another running, is there something I am missing or is this a flaw?

The trick is to let iTunes do what it wants, set it to arrange music itself and then just throw all your tracks at it and let it create the folder structure it wants. It's so much easier in the long run. When I first started using an iPod I did the same as you but it really doesn't work well.

Providing you have good tags for your music, iTunes is really good at organising it and smart playlists are really great once you get your head around them.

Ahh I've just twigged how it works, cheers :) For anything which is part of an album, make sure the artist and album tags are in place and it will display them on the iPod in its own folder if I go through the Album option and for anything which is random, create a playlist for when I want them grouped and view them through artist / track option any other time.

Glad I figured this out early on, I can edit my horrible tag's as I add them instead of re-doing a full library!

Cheers for the heads up.

I have discovered the play all feature, if you scroll down to the first song of the album you want to play it will play that album and then continue to the next album, it only works if your tags are correct though :)
