iPod Shuffle: Yay or Nay?

I'm thinking of getting an iPod Shuffle; are there any problems (excluding the no screen)

Seems to be decent enough music player, my brother got one not so long ago. It does feel rather restrictive after a while though due to the missing screen etc. But overall a good, hard wearing MP3 player.

Seems ok depends how your going to be using it?

i have the zen stone plus 2gb use it on my commute and it does the job and its smaller than a shuffle

My sister has a pink one, seems to do the job perfectly as wel as being really small.

I can't listen to music on shuffle ordering, and so without a screen it would make it difficult for me to find what I wanted to play without being on shuffle.

Personally I'd only buy a shuffle to use at the gym.

Are they selling the older 2G nanos cheap anywhere? if they are you could get one of those for a little more.

personally I'd steer away from the shuffle because I want to choose what I listen to and when. In regards to the 2G nanos, the 3G's are around 1/3 cheaper anyway for the 8g, and around a similar price for the 4 iirc. Would be worth the little extra for a nano in my opinion. I have a 3G and I LOVE it sooo much.

A 4gb 3G Nano isn't much more than a shuffle and is in a whole different league.

If you are getting a Shuffle you might as well get one of them crappy plastic cheap USB jobbies for a fiver...

Agreed. A 4GB 3G nano, or an older nano if you can source one, is a better value purchase IMO. Can't handle not being able to find the song I want, when I want. Shuffles are only good for being really small and light - usually good as a gym or exercise player.

I've never used one though, could be better/easier than I imagine!

That's why they call it the shuffle? You just have all your songs on shuffle and don't look for particular songs? Meh, I still don't like the idea of it

There's a button on the back to choose shuffle or not. But considering that's a main feature, it's not for me. It's for people who only listen to singles or whatever.
