Is it just me or is anyone else put off with the fact that at the present, the iPod touch capacity is too low to buy?

I mean.. I REALLY want an iPod touch and all that.. I love the looks, how it functions, what it can do.. it's all a yes for me.. but over the past few days I have been thinking.. well, is the capacity going to be enough for me?

This then led me onto thinking about previous ipods.. yes, they were released with little capacity but then capacity issues became no longer a problem due to the release of bigger capacity ipods soon after.

I'm wondering how long it will be before apple start to release larger capacity iPod Touches and whether they will reduce the price of the current ones by much. Also, if Apple do plan to release higher capacity touches, how much would you guess they would be?

If you fancy paying £800 for an iPod Touch then I'm sure they could do you a higher capacity, thicker iPod Touch.

The Flash technology is getting there but it really isn't very affordable at the moment - otherwise they would do it in an instant.

I would absolutely love an iPhone.. prices put me off and the million pound contracts are even worse.. You end up paying ~ £700 for the first year.

Stupid imo.

:p I'd love it nevertheless! I only really want the capabilites of an ipod, 3G internet and all the rest.

But not for the fortune that it's currently at + I want bigger space :(

Yeah.. 32gb is still a bit small for me too :(

The problem I face is.. I want to use all functions - music, video, images and web browsing however 32gb is a bit small considering I want lots of music, lots of movies, some pics AND spare space for apps etc. I mean, I want to buy an ipod touch now.. but then if I bought one now, another one with more space would probably come out knowing my luck..

:(

It definately will.

My advice would be to wait if you are detirmined about the space - then again, if you go by that logic you will always be waiting forever.

True.. thats the thing that's annoying me :( Because by the time I wait until something big enough has been released.. something bigger and better than the ipod touch will be here.. and it'll be the start of the cycle again lol gahh

You are forgetting that there are literally millions of people out there that thinks £30 - £40 contracts are the norm. They can pay that and get a Nokia brick or a stylish iphone. Flash them both in front of them with all that fancy interface and 3.5" screen the competition is just blown out of the water.

They don't think oooh £40 x 18 months = £720 !!!!

They just think...I can afford £40 a month, lets have it !

Well I totally agree with the OP, I bought the 16GB touch a couple of weeks before the 32GB one came out, and I'm finding ive got ~200MB left on mine. :(

I hope theres gonna be an upgrade sometime this year, sort of an ipod touch V2 with a camera and other nifty features :p with 30GB storage upwards.

Given that my average phone bill is about £100 a month I don't think that £40 for an iPhone contract is particularly expensive. In fact, I think it's pretty cheap for what I want to use it for.
