iPod touch - when will it get webcam?

Nearly got excited enough to buy an ipod touch, but then read it didn't have a webcam/camera.

Seems a huge thing to miss off especially with the lovely large screen. I'm going to save my money until it has a camera but when will that be? When they due a 4th gen?

It's a waste of time asking when a new Apple product will be announced. The only people who know for sure are Apple themselves and they won't tell in advance. There can and will be much speculation but it's generally just that, speculation.
 
ah ok,

I'll have to look at alternatives. on a mac forum the boards are going nuts over lack of camera and all the speculation for jan-march for a camera version.

I'll wait it out, the touch seems crippled without a camera.

Can't say that even with the camera in my 3GS or a N95 take anything worth usable and my mates P&S or my D-SLR comes out if its actually required.

Im going to say the Touch won't get a camera because then it comes even closer to the iPhones specs.

Besides, next update is in september!
 
Apple just leave out one wanted feature so that they can sell loads of the current generation of iPods and then integrate the new feature so everybody gets the new iPod.

Don't get me wrong, I love apple products, but it is just clever marketing.
 
Just buy one - If you wait for the next best feature you'll be waiting forever.

i.e. Apple are launching a 7" Tablet (iMac Air) in January with larger models to follow.
