hi, the mrs sis got an ipod touch for a present but she did not have broadband so was usless i have bb and got it runnin on my comp.i.ve put film's and thing's on it but now i'd like to unlink it from my computer and link it too hers.
got her computer here now , so what would be best way?
i dont mind just wiping everything and starting again if thats possible..

On iTunes go to 'Store' in the top nav and then 'de-authorise computer' and on your Mrs go to 'Store' then 'Authorise computer', if I remember correctly :)

iPod has to be connected both of these times :)
 
does'nt pick up ipod tpouch on her comp.
is there a way of reveting to factory setting as if you were going to sell it?
THen i could start again on her comp? I ain't spent any money on apps or stuff.
 
Hold down the power and home button for 30 seconds until you see the iTunes logo.

Plug it in to her computer, hold shift and click "Restore".

You will need to download the firmware file and put it on her computer as it will try to download it from the internet (if you don't hold shift).
 
yeh itunes is insatlled,prob is her comp just wont recognise the ipod being there.would a fresh install of itunes help? totaly remove itunes then start again ?
ok so restored ipod and now on its screen is the usb pointing to itunes but when plugged into her comp no connection?
im wondering if the usb ports work or have drivers for random stuff.is there such a driver
 
so tried all other usb ports and nothing plus only other comp i have is this 1 and it picks the ipod up then attached to this 1 ..
 
You have a few options..

  • Return the iPod
  • Reformat PC / Try and install new motherboard drivers
  • Reinstall iTunes on her PC
  • Smash it

Try booting in to "Safe mode" by pressing F8 on boot, it could be a rogue app causing problems.

Alternatively, check services.msc for "iTunes helper" and "iPod Service".. they should be running.
 
so that is that i'll just fill itunes up with some free app's and a few tunes and im free :)
