Could someone recommend a good IPSEC client please. I'm struggling to find one which works with a fortinet 1500D firewall. Unfortunately they only make one for either Windows or Mac

Do you need a GUI or are you happy with text config files and command line? If the latter, I've used Strongswan for a while now without problems. It could be hard to work out things from their documentation, but it works and seems to conform to standards enough to work with similiarly conformant other implementations.
Although it was recently "bought out" by a commercial company which has introduced a dual licensing scheme.
