Indeed. I did the full supervised Mensa exams about 20 years ago. They gave 2 papers; a verbal oriented one and another that was completely abstract - pattern based. A pass in either would get you in. The Mensa entry mark was 148 on the verbal and 132 on the abstract one. I got the exactly the same score in both tests.136 on this - I think all it proves is your good at doing IQ tests as I also did the mensa workout (23/30 incidentally) and found the questions were quite similar.
I have no doubt that if you do a lot of these tests you can increase your score - doesn't make you smarter though, just better at these sort of questions.
