Just looking at some of the shots done on the digital slr's on here with IR Filters, and was curious if I was to buy one for go on to my Fuji S5500

It is a 52mm thread size I would need, would I get any worthwhile shots from it. I realise it is not a £1000k digital SLR camera but for myself and what I need it for it certainly does the job.

So any ideas if it would be worth while buying one or wouldnt it work for me.

Also, I dont really know where I would buy one from, we have a Jessops near me, unless you people know anywhere else you can reccomend.
Thank you

Funny, I was wondering a similar thing for my S5600. I thought I read somewhere that you needed long exposure times for IR shots though, and the S5600 can only do 15 seconds max, as far as I know. I imagine your camera would be pretty similar. :(

It depends on how sensitive that camera is to IR. I have taken some today(Will post them up later) and I got some shots down to 4 seconds. Last night however, testing it out inside, I needed an exposure time of 3 minutes. So you basically need to be able to set a long shutter time, or even better have a bulb feature.
