Iran at it again.

Don't really understand this whole anti-UK sentiment being mentioned in this thread, it's as if you lot aren't British :s or maybe it's too fashionable down at the common room to be anti-west. In far too many corners of this site it sometimes appears to be a forum for some kind of far left, anarchist types to spout their anti-west nonsense, I have visions of the unwashed plebs that took to the streets of London not so long ago.

It's quite simple why Iran shouldn't be allowed Nuclear weapons, they have a president who is clearly a mentalist and a government that is not for one moment acting like they wouldn't nuke the hell out of Israel given the chance. Seems odd people are also so anti-Israel, they are our only allies in the region and the only country in the region which is closely affiliated to our view point and stance. They also don't go around saying that they're going to wipe a country off the face of the earth for no apparent reason.

Tension arises out of a sense of injustice at the personal and international level.

It is not being anti-west to express understanding of the point of view of the other man.

Ask the Palestinians what they think about Israel NOT wiping countries of the face of the Earth :)

I would imagine that to many people in the middle east Israel is a western imposed cancer that needs to be cut out of their lands at any cost.

But many of the fundamentalist Muslims seem think everything is an "injustice". Just look at the news this evening, those nutter Muslims hounding Baroness Warsi and throwing eggs at her because they didn't think "she was a proper Muslim".

If someone does something that the fundamentalists think is evil/a sin/not living to the very letter of the Koran, they scream for blood and wish death on those people.

There is no reasoning or negotiating with these fanatics. They are so convinced by a stupid book and myths that they would kill because of it.

Theres a big difference between throwing eggs at someone and complaining compared to using a nuclear device on hundreds of thousands of innocent people and having the fallout of that fall on hundreds of thousands more.

You guys do realise that if iran DID use a nuke against israel for example, the USA would wipe them off the face of the earth? Due to that, they wont do it. Its the same posturing rubbish which the cold war was based on.

I think with the muslim faith they should be just left alone. If the soldiers weren't in afganistan for instance they said they'd stop all actions. Why can't we call their bluff for once and just see if giving them respect earns it in return instead of trying to impose OUR will and OUR way of life on them at every single turn?
 
Does anyone really believe that they will produce nuclear power, just to unleash it on the western world?
Oh and then be instantly destroyed.
 
Can't blame Iran for wanting nukes, when that moron Bush labeled them an 'Axis of evil' Also the younger generation has had it with the present government and the hard line religious nuts that run the country, if the west starts interfering it will just turn another generation against us.

Otherwise your arguments can be missconstrued.

The country's most powerful Muslim woman was pelted with eggs by a group of young Islamists yesterday.

Baroness Warsi, the Conservative shadow minister for community cohesion and social action, was visiting Luton with one of her party's election candidates.

But during a visit to the Bury Park area, she was confronted by protesters who shouted her down before throwing several eggs, one of which hit her and another landed on a supporter.
