In a separate development, a coalition of Sunni Muslim insurgents released an internet video statement proclaiming an independent Islamic state covering Baghdad and several other provinces stretching as far north as Kirkuk.

The statement was from the Mutayibeen Coalition, which reports said was formed earlier in the week by the insurgent umbrella group, the Mujahideen Shura Council.

Are words even necessary?

Also note the ridiculous amount of killing going on.

I dont get it? Because some week old insurgent group has claimed an area of Iraq to be an independant islamic state, Iraq is now a failure?

Hell, I could go to Iraq and claim it to be an American state. That doesnt mean it is.

OK so there's the weird women and beards thing and maybe a we don't have a kebab shop evey 20 yards on the way back from the pubs yet. Give it time and some Gillette G3's and things will be just as I said, like.

All of the Iraqi political and religious insurgent propaganda appears to be an excuse for some warlord to muscle in on the action. They just seem intent on destruction rather than doing anything worthwhile. Have they fed the starving? have they built houses? repaired a school?

No they've blown up some people who haven't heard of them, hasn't it been proved that that doesn't work yet?

Is this the same group who CNN are reporting about at the moment who want negotiations with the US and have described the Iranian interference as a potentially bigger problem than US forces?

Yet more Islamic death and destruction. The religion of peace? Yeah right.

your very wrong in saying that only a smal minority actually cause these problems, the same for Christians, the IRA rebels had been killing for years, back in the medievel days we were sending crusades over there for the sole purpose of killing muslims we are no better or worse than islam

Iraq is a mess, but it's nowhere near as bad as Vietnam was. Not in terms of casualties, not in terms of duration, not even in terms of lying to the populace (Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, anyone?).

How does that even relate to Vietnam? Im finished talking to you as you are clearly on a bandwagon of sorts and are just repeating what you heard some drunk idiot say at the bar.

actually, if you can get past the nutters killing and demmanding strict sharia "law" its quite a beautiful and peacful religion that gave the world many things over the past 1600 years, unfortunatly it appears to have lost its way some what :(

I suppose these nutters are in no way a reaction to the illegal brutal invasion and subsequent occupation of their country that has resulted in the death of 650,000 Iraqi's?

I would have thought the Gulf of Tonkin lie would be on par with the "we are 4 minutes away from destruction" lie or maybe even the mushroom cloud speech? Or how about Colin Powell's bare-faced lieing at the UN?

They aren't that bright are they ;)

Wonder if they've got their turbans on too tight and it's cutting off the blood supply to their heads
