I just deleted all files including rockbox from my iriver h120 and it no longer boots. Rockbox was flashed to Rom and ram.

Pretty sure I've done that before but now cannot see it nor format it. Perhaps it's died on me but bit of a coincidence.

Toshbj a mk1214gah but zif to pin adapter for iriver, very fine female pins on hard disk side.

Opened it up want to directly connect to pc and reformat to fat32. What adapter do I need

Or if hd damaged wouldn't mind changing to microsd card.

Ok seen kingspec 1.8" 120gb zif drive for about £70.

Anyone know this will work? I have the pre firmware on ROM and ram installed. Have the irivrer to zif adapter.

Or could go with microsd to zif adapter. Or zif to CF then CF to microsd . Cheaper and easily change card

Just ordered a CF to zif adapter for £3. A CF to microsd probably another fiver.

Got a 32gb microsd card spare I'll try that if it works I'll order a 128gb card.

Not bad upgrade less than £40 and won't have to worry about knocking the unit.

Seen dual slot microsd compact flash would these work, if can have two 128gb cards...

So I need to fit a micro SD into a as adapter. Then fit that inside compact flash adapter. Then fit that into a compact flash to zif adapter. Then fit that into a zif to pata adapter (have one already) so not expensive upgrade from spinner to solid state drive. Faster, quieter, no spin up time, longer battery life, and no worries about heads smacking into platter...and easily change card within 15 minutes
