Hey all.

I've got a problem with my iRiver H10.

I was using it at college last week, and i tried to install winamp onto it (so i can play my music through the PC's at college so to save battery life). Winamp went in fine, however after using it for an hour or so, i got a screen full of error messages, and a systems administrator notice popped up saying something about a security threat.

I took my iRiver out, and put it back in, but it's wiped it completely :o Everythings gone, even the system files. It's not even recognised as a H10 by windows anymore. Luckily my friend has a H10 aswell so i borrowed his firmware whilst at college and it sprung back to life - without music of course.

Now my final problem. The iriver still thinks the music is on there. Even though it's empty, it's still reporting as 5GB used. I've reinstalled the firmware a couple of times, and used the recovery tool, but nothing worked.

I don't want to try and format it through windows because i can remember reading a while back that it bricked someones H10 :(

Any ideas?

Thanks

If it's like my Ihp40 iriver it should have an option somewhere in the settings to format it :)

I don't think there is on the H10s :(

would be a good time to get rockbox on it!

Had it on there twice before. I just kept going back to the original firmware. It just feels unfinished (it is, isn't it?).

Gonna try and format it through windows... wish me luck.
