Deep Silver has announced that a new mission, Assassinate the Blondie, has been added to the multiplayer mode of Iron Front – Liberation 1944, the tactical shooter from X1 Software/AWAR due to be released later this week. In Assassinate the Blondie four players compete against each other in pairs. Soviets snipers are trying to kill Hitler’s favourite Alsatian, while the German team’s mission is to prevent it- or at least eliminate the attackers.


Iron Front – Liberation 1944 is based on the engine of ARMA II Operation Arrowhead by Bohemia Interactive. The story takes place in southern Poland during the Soviet Offensive in the summer of 1944. The player takes on the role of a Russian or German infantryman, using teamwork, tactical skill and authentic war machines to battle for victory. The German campaign focuses on slowing the advance of the Soviet troops, while the Soviet campaign is all about breaking through the enemy’s resistance. However, the player does not have to do all this on foot: using their computers, tacticians control tanks, including the famous German battle tank Panzerkampfwagen VI or “Königstiger” and the Russian Stalin tank JS2, or fighter planes such as the Focke Wulf 190 and dive bombers like the Stuka or the Petlyakov PE-2.

Online players can complete missions either cooperatively or compete with each other in special multiplayer modes such as Capture the Flag or Attack and Defense and now Assassinate the Blondie.

I'm anticipating this game running like *** on my pc, it doesnt cope well with busy scenes in OA and looks like theres a heck of a lot more going on in this game.

Shame as this is my most anticipated game this year.
 
wow this game is cheap, £14.99!

doesn't fill me with much confidence if they don't think its worth full price, don't know if i should be concerned. is it riddled with bugs?

getting this game on day 1, my expectations are sky high! HOPE i'm not dissapointed.

The guys that are putting this together have made some really nice mods for A2, so it should be a very good game. Hopefully with the buggy side well under control, although to be fair BIS have got A2 more or less under control now and optimised to run a lot better. Certainly frame rates are up since 1.60 and getting better with upto date Beta's. So if you couldn't run A2 before, you might now..

Just spoke to someone at greenmangaming, and they told me "we will be releasing the game shortly".

Is this game steamworks btw?
