Hi all.

I have typed MSinfo32 into my run. and cilcked on IRQ's. I notice that i have a lot of things sharing the same IRQ... will this slow down my PC? or my USB 2.0 transfer speeds etc.

atm i get max 12mb/sec tops (vista 64bit no SP1... yet it BSODS :( )

on 22 IRQ i have Soundblaster card, onboard audio AND my Ethernet port 2for internet.

i have noticed when i put my internet through ethernet port 1, which shares the same IRQ for my USB 2 controller, the USB data transfer speeds grind to under 200kb/sec.

is there any way to manipulate which IRQ is used by what?

Thanks in advance!

disable the onboard audio for one, and disable any onboard devices you don't use, this will free up some irqs. so disable one of the internet controllers, if you don't use a floppy drive, disable the controller, same with ide drives if you only have sata, and vice versa,(just don't switch of anything you aren't sure about ;)) you should be able to do it in the bios. Don't worry about some devices sharing an irq, my hard drives share one with the usb, and i don't have any speed issues.
