Hi folks!

Got my V3 in the post today, popped it in with great excitement, but I'm struggling to get it to perform as it should be doing.

This is what I'm getting currently from it;

I should be getting close to 480mb/s write, and 535mb/s read, but as you can see it is not getting anywhere near this.

Anyone with good harddrive knowledge can help me figure out why?

That's a Marvell controller, which will be limiting your performance. I'd suggest firstly ensuring you're on the latest BIOS, as several releases for that board have improved the SATA3 compatibility and stability, as well as ensuring you're using the latest Marvell drivers.
Other than that, you're most likely hitting the controller's wall, it's simply not a fantastic storage controller.

Ahh FML

One of the reasons I got this board was for the native Sata3

Now I hear its bad, great stuff >_>

400read is a lot faster than the 270 of my Vertex 2, but it's still annoying knowing it's being bottlenecked.

Any reasonably priced controller cards out there that could unleash it?

It's not that the Marvell is terrible, it's that that's how the controllers were when the board was released over a year ago. The newer Marvell controllers and the native Intel are obviously much better as they're much newer.
Most controller cards use the same controller or a similar one, unless you spend silly money but then you'd be in the range of being able to buy a new setup with that kind of investment.
400 read isn't to be sneezed at.
