I haven;t run it for a while, but I ran 3D mark 2006 just now, and got the result of 13285.

This is a Q6600 at 3.15GHz, 4GB of Ram at 820MHz, A 8800 GT at 650 core, 1625 shaders and 975 memory.

I would have thought that as this is a reasonably recent and well specced set up, I'd be further up the little graph thing on 3D mark's site!

Opinions?

It's a good one. I had mine upto 14217 this evening. default was 11xxx something.

Tweak it some more and I'm sure you can go higher. We both have quads and your GT should be better than my G80 8800GTS core.

overclock the quad and GT more, with my E6600 at 3.4, 8800GT @ 700/1800/1000 and 2gig of ram at 850Mhz I got 13296.

hehe these threads always make me smile. Its like the poster knows it's a good score but acts all innocent about it. inadvertent willy waving :p
good score mate ;)

Whats going to happen when 3Dmark Vantage comes out? Every single thread on the main page is going to be like, Is 2666 reasonable in 3dmark vantage? :(

lol, the number is completely irrelevant, it's just a tool to see how your PC compared to other configurations be it out of 10 or 1000, or 100,000.

More like 1500 and that's with a GTX :(

to OP: yes it's a good score nothing to worry about.

My 8800GT should get slightly higher if 1500 is with a GTX and dual because the GT is faster in 3dmark by the looks of it, but either way, Its just something making our hardware seem crap untill we upgrade.

I get around 12,900~ with a 8800 GT (685/1674/1000) and an E8400 @ 3.6, so yours is a pretty decent score considering mine is clocked a little higher :(.

Word of advice..do NOT compare the results to others on ORB, you'll be like "what the.."

You'll see people with a pentium 4 having 20k scores and rubbish lol. Worst thing though, is when soemone with a seemingly identical setup to you beats your score by a good margin. What it doesn't tell you is what the graphics card is running at, and also equally important, what speed the RAM is at, i don't think it even says if it's DDR2 or DDR3. Both those have a huge impact on scores. I found most people who beat mine had 4gb RAM, other's i assume OC'd there's graphics cards to max. running DDR3 1333 lol.

Got mine to 14,939 last night with spec in sig. Though OC'd graphics card to 750/1050(2100). It can go higher.
