Is 13285 reasonable in 3d mark 06?

I get 14,510 on my 8800GT @ 726/1260

Your scores look spot on for a mildly overclocked GT

Assuming your temps are not at full load, 59C, hmm. Dunno what your cooler is, but at what is probably ~1.35v vcore, your temps shouldn't be that high after running 3D mark, where the temps plummet. In theory that clock can easily get to 3.6ghz.

To get your clock i need 1.47v heh.

No my temps are hopeless at the moment and you're spot on. I have an AC7 Pro on there thats not doing the job at all which is why theres a Tuniq Tower 120 sitting on a shelf next to me waiting to be fitted.

I'm quite happy at 3.4 though, I can go higher but as I only have a 8800GT there doesn't seem much point. Going from 3.1 to 3.4gig and tweaking the memory only took me from 14100 to 14,510 3DMarks.

Oh and I run Vista 64, but a friend of mine said he got a much bigger increase running XP so I don't know how much impact that has.

Three things i can think of off the top of my head:

That cooler i consider 'cheap' it is quality, but it's the price for a reason. Check the heatsink base, i bet you it's as flat as a football (exagerration lol)

Yes, i found going from 3.0 to 3.4 in 3d mark made zero difference, coulda sworn it actually dropped a few marks lol. RAM and Graphics card are key there, RAM surprisingly is very important in the graphcis tests.

Yep, XP simply gives better FPS. Check the Crysis thread in thsi section, check out the OS's. Basically, vista uses more memory up, has more crap going on and isn't very optimized really.

You get around 2k more ocing the gfx card from stock :p My 8800GT stock oc is getting better results than the GTS512MB stock as an example!

Fair enough, it'll do. I was just a little disturbed, when I hit the link through to the 3D mark website thingy, they have a little curvy graph, on that, compared to SIMILAR systems, my score is really low!, like special needs low!

I've got to be honest, both CPU and GFX card will clock higher, but I then start to get instability and or whirring fans!

My 14939 is at the bottom of the chart...ignore it. Majority on there are wierdo's who use liquid nitrogen to cool their CPU's and stephen hawking to OC their graphics cards proportionate to the eath's orbit of the sun.

Highest in the 116 similar systems is 20k roughly. Notably 4gb (which will be high speed, DDR3, overclocked), high end motherboards (probably X38,etc).

And most importantly..

I don't believe it tells you if they are using SLi or Crossfire..

what on earth! I have

e8400 at 3.4
Crucial ballistix ram
POV 8800GT

I didnt even break the 12k mark :(

I get 13,100 at stock clocks on the 8800GT and 3.1gig clock speed. As V3g3tto said earlier, look at your RAM settings as it makes a big difference.

I run mine at 1:1.2 to my FSB which works out at DDR907. I also run fast timings at 4-4-4-12, these things make more difference in 3DMark than raw clock speed of your processor.
