Is £22 for windows 10 too good to be true?

You work for Microsoft I guess ?

I don't care about license agreements, it's a farce, I care about free market, and when a key from a different market, that doesn't make it less ''legal'' imo. Region based software should be illegal, it's discrimination on where you live.
Calling people who re-sell license keys criminals is clearly insane.

And yeah, for myself I do, for customers, I buy a a license, and it it activates, that is all good for me and the customer. Someone has sold hat key or released that key.

But this is OcUK I guess, some nerds who value some moronic ideology about licensing roam here (luckily most people aren't idiots).

same legal footing as someone who hasn't paid a penny is insane
And that's where you're wrong :). The legal footing is you paid for a license... Unless the UK has some other retarded laws (but that is a fact I guess, since even. In a free market anyone can sell anything, companies like Microsoft don't have a say in that.

There is no difference. Paying to be unlicensed and be on the same legal footing as someone who hasn't paid a penny is insane. The fact you've given your money to a criminal who doesn't deserve a penny doesn't absolve you of any legal wrong doing. Just pirate it and STFU.

All you seem to care about is the fact that it activates and nothing bad has happened since...exactly the same position you'd be in if you did it yourself.
You know that piracy isn't a crime, nor is selling MSDN keys.

Yes, but we aren't talking about grey market. These cheap keys are keys likely to be banned, so if you're buying them, you're wasting your money. Just crack it, because Microsoft isn't seeing any of the money there.

I've yet to see this happen. After having used a lot of these keys.

That's their own policy, they still allow free upgrades (and give away licenses for free) to win 10 when you claim you use the accessibility technologies (which imho is as much as using the magnifying glass once in a while) . Then the HW ID of the mobo is known at MS and everyone can use the media creation tool to reinstall win10 from fresh as much as they like for the rest of the life of that mainboard.

if you did not read it

I bought one of the 2012 Case C‑128/11 of the ECJ compliant resale copies of Office 2016 Professional from an Amazon marketplace seller for a whopping £8, working well so far. So far as I can understand it, once Microsoft originally sold it, they handed over its rights of sale to the new owner - so, provided the new owner deleted their copy before selling the licence on - Microsoft can't stop me using my £8 copy.

I suppose the difficult part is proving that the previous owner deleted their copy if Microsoft states afterwards that they didn't.

now usedsoft appears to sell MSOFFICE licenses under this ruling
https://www.usedsoft-shop.com/en/Office-applications/Microsoft-Office/Microsoft-Office-2010/ at 83,00 €
but if you read the case

The Court points out, however, that if the licence acquired by the first acquirer relates to a greater number of users than he needs, that acquirer is not authorised by the effect of the exhaustion of the distribution right to divide the licence and resell only part of it.
so it seems to be illegal to sell individual volume licenses, whch usedsoft openly sells ..can anyone explain

I love win 7 and hate 10. I tried the free upgrade when it first came out. Thinking of upgrading my PC. Using Win 7 would involve messing about. Doesn't support usb3,0 etc etc. So Looks like I have to get Win 10 :(. Can I use my Win7 code? Is that till the end of Dec only. Ram prices are ski high. May wait till March when prices may lower and new Processors are out

P.S. Don't forget there's also Linux :D

P.P.S. Whilst windows7 doesn't have in built USB3, you can still use drivers from sites to get it going on your windows7 install.

Didn't know what assistive technologies was. Also clean install on new HD using win 7 code

Never even tried Linux. Scared of my games not working

FYI I recently upgraded my daughters PC from Win 7 to Win 10. I had to reinstall everything and, aware of the 31s Dec deadline, I decided to upgrade her machine. I simply downloaded the Win 10 ISO onto a USB drive, then installed it. When the installation asked for a key I put in the Win 7 key that I had from her original install. It then continued to install Win 10.

So you can install Win 10 with a Win 7 key using a fresh install. But I suspect the time limit on it is the end of this month.
