Is 2500K a worthwhile upgrade?

yeah 100% a good upgrade. Nearly every 2500k i've seen does 4.5ghz without even changing voltage.

I went q6600 > 2500k when it first came out and it was honestly a 100% upgrade to me.

keep looking for 2nd hand i guess. that price was pretty special..

Was tempted to persue this and not accept the refund but cba with the potential grief so left some negative feedback instead.

I've just gone from a Q8300 to a 2500K. For gaming, there wasn't much in it between the later i5 Ks. I've yet to over clock (waiting for a new cooler) so looking forward to that.

Shame about the auction, as that would have been a great price (got my 2500K for £95 alone which seems to be the normal ebay value). Negative feedback him/her so that others are warned of that behaviour, regardless of whether they gave the money back or not. It's just not cricket...
