THG did a 4GB v 8GB review last week, and the 8GB suprised me in its far better overall not just for Video hardcore stuff, you use the slow HDD far less.
This decision has been on my mind since bulding my new rig. I have Vista 32-bit, purely because of current instability/driver issues with 64-bit, though i am wishing i bought the 64-bit now. I scrimp on nothing and my PC before 2 years ago had 1.5gb DDR2 533, which was a lot for when majority had 512mb.
Therefore having just 2gb now is annoying. However, i'm tempted to get another 2x1gb set, as i'd still have ~3.25gb to use and for the price, it might still be worth it.
Also, i'm assuming 4x1gb is better than 2x2gb due to the timings?

Omg, for days i've been saying: "I bought 32-bit because im sure that MS offer you an upgrade for real cheap to the 64-bit version", yet both the website and people on here say you gotta buy 64-bit retail full.
However it is OEM, so doesn't sound like i can upgrade , though I haven't activated my 32-bit yet so if i can get hold of a 64-bit disk, i can use that key again it seems. Thanks for the heads up

Doesn't say it has to be retail, just says i need to provide the product key which i have. Only difference with OEM and retail is i think i can't reinstall the OEM version if i change motherboards. Though again, i haven't activated it, so it doesn't matter i don't think.
Hmm, they're probably referring to all versions not shipped with PC's tbh. I pretty sure the key's are the same and that's the only information on what OS i got they'll be getting.
