Wait how do you have a 3070?I have the same gfx card and I've thrown everything at it red dead 2 being optimum test and 8GB is more than enough for me.
Wait how do you have a 3070?
It's this gens low end so yes. I'm currently on a 980Ti with 6GB.
Nvidia marketed the 2080ti as being a 4k GPU so if the 3070 is the same performance or faster then that is also a 4K GPUIt's this gens low end so yes. I'm currently on a 980Ti with 6GB.
£500 doesn't seem to get you very much these days£500+ is "low end" ?
There a huge difference to running a 8GB 1080 compared to a 8GB 3070 as the 3070 is close to twice the speed of a 1080 so you be able to ran far higher graphic settings which of cause then uses much more vram..Well I'm using a 1080 and that still runs 1440p fine for any game, well enough for me so I imagine the 3070 will be fine for that res for its lifespan, 4k I would doubt it though.
Any idea why OCUK dont have any MSI 3070's listed for next week? @Gibbo
8 GB is already not enough in many instances, unless you're ok with gimping textures or 1080p. It's a pathetic amount tbh & why the 3080 is such a better deal than this dumb 3070. 10 GB is just at the limit of enough, so any extra GB is gonna help in the long run. Nvidia ofc doesn't care because if you have to upgrade again because of it in 2 years then so much the better.
edit: this is how the future will look like with 8gb, more & more
I'd agree with this, it's resolution dependent.for 1080p it should be enough for at least 3 years for 1440p it will probably be enough for 2 years at least, for 4k its not really going to be enough for newer games.
