As per the title is a laptop needed for uni? Basically I have a relatively powerfull desktop pc (2500k, gtx480, ssd ect) and was wondering if this will be sufficient enough or would a laptop be an advantage? Thanks
I started uni with a desktop and an android tablet. 3 months in I sold the tablet and bought a laptop.
Laptops allow you to do most of your PC stuff out of your room, which allows for more socialising.
I had my desktop at uni but also a laptop for taking to classes / socializing around people in kitchen. It does help having a laptop but i just could not spare a thought of leaving my pc at home.
The proof is in the pudding. If you want to be able to do your assignments/coursework in different places e.g outside, in lectures etc, Laptop. Otherwise, Desktop is fine
