i have an internal ADSL pci modem ...HomerJ said:All depends on what your line stats are so post your stats from in the router.
yeah ,i must say that since i have been on Nildram its service is gone really off ! they really are throttleing p2p and speeds are slower across the board ,pipex are the same as is f2 which are all in the same group now .teaboy5 said:Like the above poster says, it all depends on your line speed. One thing i didn't notice is the ping you have seems rather high.
how do i find that ?A2Z said:what's your sync rate?

what do u pay a month ?teaboy5 said:Yeah i had some big problems with Nilly, got them to regard my line to a fixed rate and never had a problem since, no slow downs etc. Mind you my upload was halved but that doesn't worry me.
here is my result of the speedtesterA2Z said:
point taken ,and understood ,and yes i have ordered a new router a linksys and i,m now going to make my mind up on an isp ,just feel nildram asre saying there not throttleing and seem to get different downlads on p2p so your right its time to take a chance if only for a month !csmager said:Please, seriously. Have you not decided what to do yet?
I seem to see a new thread by you on the same topic everytime I come in - I gave up replying after the first few. I've just run a search and worked out you have started 45 threads since January in here. 3 are currently near the top as I write this.
23 of them have been about which ISP you should chose or whether you should move. 21 of them were about which modem or router you should chose and the relative merits of just about anything.
Can you not just do something? Make a decision!

UKFSN, as I said in January, would have no traffic shaping. You'd get 3Mb all day long.
Nildram say they've toned back the traffic shaping apparently. If you notice any limits on p2p and it bothers you, then move. If not, then don't. Quite simple really.
Go for it then. I'm on UKFSN and haven't had a problem, other than overstepping my Peak Allowance on occasion.jamjar said:point taken ,and understood ,and yes i have ordered a new router a linksys and i,m now going to make my mind up on an isp ,just feel nildram asre saying there not throttleing and seem to get different downlads on p2p so your right its time to take a chance if only for a month !
Thanks ,and what package are you on ? you must download loads !csmager said:Go for it then. I'm on UKFSN and haven't had a problem, other than overstepping my Peak Allowance on occasion.
Thanks a lot ,and they don,t throttle then ? or not that you have noticed ?csmager said:Go for it then. I'm on UKFSN and haven't had a problem, other than overstepping my Peak Allowance on occasion.
yeah i understand ,i was looking at the Office MAX 45 package too,and 45 Gb is loads of films and t.v episodes right ? with someone like me on my own ..csmager said:Don't download *that* much, but the bandwidth allowances are both upload and download. 45Gb isn't that much, considering that's when I'm awake.
I am sharing a student house with 3 others too.
I'm on OfficeMAX 45, I think. Off peak just got moved from 10pm to 8pm, which is great!
The only throttling they do is when there's extreme peak times just to prevent packet loss, but I haven't noticed. Think my exchange is busier than Enta's network.
sorry pushed wrong button !jamjar said:yeah i understand ,i was looking at the Office MAX 45 package too,and 45 Gb is loads of films and t.v episodes right ? lol for someone like me on my own![]()
