So the house Im in has a phone line and has cables running all over the house and the guy who pays for it has his router at the end of an extension lead and god knows where that plugs in :/

There is a second line in the house but its been deactivated for over a year and Id have to pay the £122 odd to get it turned back on.

What I wanna know is, will this line be completely isolated from the mess of cables downstairs?

If the old line has been in use before, you shouldn't have to pay the reconnection fee. I certainly didn't when I moved into my flat 18 months ago when the previous tenants had been using Virgin.

Yeah, if the line has been off for less than 6 months its free to reconnect :/ but if its been off for considerably longer, they actually disconnect the line from the exchange or some crap so they have to send an engineer out to the exchange to get it back on :|

Might try that then :P

Maybe if I say that if I have to pay the activation, Im going with Virgin they might change their mind lol.

Post office you say eh...

Is that some deal theyve got on at the moment? Any links to any info? :D

Yeah they offered me that 18 month contract crap :/ but I dont even know if Ill be there for 6 months let alone 18 lol

I can get the Virgin/NTL line turned on for £30 ;/ but if the post office can do it for free then I might give them a go first.
