Is an RTX3080 TI worth £170 more than RTX3080 at this point?

So if you owned a 3080fe before why are you even asking this pointless question ? Where you clearly state you were happy with the 3080 10GB before and stating it was plenty so why ask ? Seems like a thread with a pointless discussion as it's down to you then if the value is worth it for a 3080ti. You can clearly see prices of cards and the next gen 40 series cards too now they are released so again I will repeat the value comes down to your needs then at the price you are willing to pay. Bit of a daft post mate then. I was under the impression you never had one of the cards before.. So use some common sense and pick what you think is worth it now for you as all the information you need is already out there and you had personal experience with one of the cards as you owned it before.

One of those days again mate? :p

He's tried the FG/fake frames tech out at his colleagues house in MSFS and has realised how good it is now, which makes him want a 4090... ;) :D :p

Tomorrow mate, need to build the new machine for him, 7950x and the 4090 and then shift his NVME drives and SSDS and HDDS over to the new setup, he's not letting me play on it for free lol.. Kidding apart I normally help any that are not confident with their systems, they normally bring them to work and we sort them but this is a whole new build so doing it at his place and then turning his old pc into a pc for his kids.

calm down,take a few deep breaths...it helps..ok

when I had the 3080 in 2020 it was 650 and there was no Ti
all later comparisons/opinions between the 2 are are based on £1050 Ti price point
even now Ti is £930
I asked about a choice between them at different prices and at a different time (680 vs 820)
new prices affect the products value then theres upcoming new launches making it even more complicated..

still think the question is pointless?
yo know you don't have to reply to every post when you don't have anything useful to say :)

If you have the option to buy either an RTX3080 for £680 or an RTX3080 Ti for £850 (both FE brand new) ,which one is in your opinion a better buy at this moment? (price/performance value wise)
can't wait for 2-3 more months.

It never was.

:p

So you done making your mind up ?

In all seriousness if you can get a sensible priced 3080ti go for it and if you are after a FE model only new then they are £930 new and in stock now or get the one for £850 new if this person will help you with warranty issues, if not well sadly you missed out on 3080ti AIB prices when they went down a little. Other option is the 12GB 3080 and there is an ASUS TUF here :-

£878.99 with spiderman game for free and is not much slower than the 3080ti and a decent model with a good cooler.

EDIT: there is this also for £800 12GB 3080 with the spiderman game too :-

I was watching some BNIB 3080 Ti's on eBay and one agreed to £820 shipped, that's the main reason I started this thread.
but then I realised the warranty isn't transferable even with receipt.and that's a deal breaker for me.regardless of price.

there was also MSI 3080 10GB available for £680 (using a promo code) from a major retailer including 3 years warranty.

now that 4080 12Gb is cancelled,I think I might wait a bit longer,if they re-launch it as 4070 for chepaer,(£800?) I will go for that one.
at least it can further reduce 3080 / Ti prices.

in the meantime if the 3080 FE comes back in stock (£650) I will probably just buy that and call it a day.

3080ti as it has 12GB and as fast as a 3090 really, vram is more important out of these two really ask @Nexus18 or @TNA ;)

The 3080 FE is only 10GB and slower.

Both same size and look the same too with the FE's. So if VRAM is more important to you and even the new 4080 is starting at 12GB so gives you a clue future games will need 12GB soon and already some out now.

If it was me the 3080ti.

;) Any of the 12GB models that has the best price.
