(try to resist those rude jokes people!)

personally my ideal dual core device, not that I'm dreaming of sone ridiculous monster phone, doesn't exist.

The lg optimus 2x looks ace, but not much ram.
The atrix 4g is great, but the screen is pentile and it's high res slows games
the samsung galaxy s2 is nice, but 4.3" screen is not to my liking.

All I want is a
dual core tegra 2
4" non-pentile 800x480 display
756 / 1gb of ram

is that too much to ask for? :(

anyone else feel the same or are you lot not too fussed?

You cant have a 4' screen and then complain about a 4.3' one.

The difference is barely even noticeable unless you have abnormally small hands, in which case, fair enough.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but what's wrong with PenTile?

Oh, and complaining that a large res slows down games... it's a phone, not a console.

No, because I don't have unreasonable expectations of the phone market and I don't expect to be able to upgrade to a new revolutionary device every 32 seconds.

hardly any diffrence between 4.3 and 4 screens. Go try

yeah, ill have to check them out in person. but judging by videos they just look a little too big. currently got an iphone, but think 4" would be spot on form factor wise.

i might see the galaxy s2's screen and fall in love so who knows!

the galaxy s does look a bit smaller than the s 2, but not too much i suppose. Like a lot of things you're best off trying them in hand before making any conclusions.

Haha, I feel the same way, I'm more than happy with my current phone and I'd rather just use it than looking for something slightly better...

whats unreasonable about the phone i specced? there are phones coming out much better than the one i suggested. the s2 for example has everything i want, with an even larger and better screen (but i prefer a 4" screen).

expect to upgrade a new device every 32 seconds? ive had my iphone for 2 years, before that i had a sony ericsson for about 5. so yeah...

relax fella, try not to get your knickers in a twist.

From the reviews ive read pentile screens, give a washed out 'screen door' effect. hence my interest in non-pentile devices.

saying its a phone not a console, belittling the gaming capability of these devices, when nvidia have developed a chip made specifically for gaming seems a little bit stupid to me.

HTC Pyramid might be the go, although it will probably have a 4.3" screen. But the difference between a 4.0" and 4.3" is 7.5mm diagonal or around 3mm width

At the moment im constantly having to review my apps every so often to save some space. Surprised by how many of them dont support install / move to SD knowing how very few lines of code it actually takes to enable it.

Nothing, The Desire screen was PenTile. Picky people are picky

the desire's screen is stunning. i stand corrected thanks bro.

depending on how nvidia and developers optimise games for tegra 2 deivces, will decide weather the resolution is an issue for me. they might make sure they run very smooth on the atrix, in which case its not a problem.

true that, the screen size difference is a personal preference thing, but theres not much in it. plus htc phones are generally built like tanks!
its looking good.

I just had my HTC Desire replaced for the second time by T-Mobile under warranty last week, the first one i got at launch last March/April and was an AMOLED screen and I liked it at first, colours were bright and it was all good, but then it broke and was replaced in September with an SLCD version, and there is a massive difference in text legibility compared with the AMOLED however it wasa little more washed out so to speak. Fast forward to last week, and my phone was replaced again, and I got an AMOLED one back I was a little :( since now I need to increase some web pages default sizes before the text is readable again.

Pentile is horrible for me, I'd much rather have a non-pentile display on my phone. :)
