Bit of a funny question...I read the topic about the guy who is making the huge Robocop model and I wondered if there are others on the forum who have skills and equipment like that.

Do you think it would be feasible for someone to make me a set of spigot rings for alloy wheels?

There are people around, but unless the spigot rings you are after are some odd size that you cannot find anywhere else, i doubt that its going to be any cheaper, or quicker than just buying a set and having them delivered.

They are a funny old size, not available to buy anywhere: 56.1mm OD to 54.1mm ID...I'm having a right nightmare. I've just heard back from one company who said they can only make them out of steel otherwise they would be too brittle but they have not got back to me regarding a price yet.

They are only £12 for four on the first Google page I clicked, it's not worth measuring out and setting a lathe up for that sort of job unless you're making 100's of them.

I guess there will be, however that robocop guy is a living legend, and could probably knock you up a mean looking set of spigot rings.

Hello, it is I.

Thats a thin ring! would have to be steel for 1mm thick, if you can find them somewhere you'd be better off buying a set. Custom made would be looking at £40 or so, if it was aluminium i'd do them a bit cheaper but I wouldnt want the pain in the **** making them in steel.
