Yep sounds like a poor bike choice especially for commuter and new owners that may not know how to look after a bike. It's not fooling anyone everyone knows it's a 125 with some fancy plastics that just increase the cost rather than performance or enjoyment.
Even a Duke 125 would probably cheaper if they really wanted something a little bling.
When started not a million years ago I bought and old KH125. I think it was from the 90s but the design was 70s. I was riding it in the 2000s. Insurance was about £50 a year TPFT. Even it was stolen in the end.
GoFundMe doesn't make sense. The instigator wants people to give them money to overcome a hardship or injustice, but GoFundMe just ads barriers to that. I clicked on the link and was asked to sign in or sign up. My response is F that, and the window gets closed.
