Is Burnout Paradise the most frustrating game ever?

Only thing i hate about it is the lack of a marker system or at least a way to retry the race you just failed by 1 second..

Having to drive all the way back then fail it again gets alittle annoying and some of them get tricky when you are on top licences

I find the following games highly frustrating:

Guitar Hero - Some songs are impossible

PES - It is a football game, therefore it is frustrating

FIFA - Sometimes the players do not do what you tell them to do, the ********

Burnout Paradise - As above, mainly the watching my car crash for 10 seconds when I really want to just get on and finish the race

Football Manager - Self explanatory

CALL OF ******* DUTY 4 on 360 - See my thread here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17837284&highlight=hate+call+duty

I don't think it is as good as Burnout:revenge, I miss the crash junctions and I know people didn't like the way you could run into the back of cars without crashing, but it made catching up to other racers easier if you crashed.

Paradise though is a very good game with some annoying niggles, I can see why they didn't put in a "Restart race" option, to keep it flowing, and fortunately I am half way through, so I can usually go to another race if I don't win it.

I have also had the game point me in the wrong direction after a crash, usually at a junction or intersection.

I used to rely on the sat nav, now I pause the game and check out the route and go a different way, which usually means I lose as I take a wrong turn :p

No, but it is dull with a lot of needless features like the ones you mentioned padding out the game.

Bring back proper burnout games please.

agreed, the most fun i have had in it is finding yellow gates to smash through. Its like playing GTA with no missions or people.

By no people I mean it. Its scary not one person in the whole game! Not driving or walking. Its like You and 'DJ Atomica' are the last people in the world. Or maybe its set in heaven.... it is called 'Paradise' after all.

i think a lot of the criticisms aimed at games today, are a bit over the top, weve never had it so good ,Paradise is a driving game, pure and simple, who needs pedestrians etc?, it looks superb, plays superb, and is a whole lot of fun, ok i agree criticism is healthy, but only when its constructive, not nit picking.

Yeah, Who cares about pedestrians when you are flying along at 200mph trying to smash the other cars against parked cars.

Sure the game isn't perfect but I think they held back to have some new stuff they can use on the next game like animated drivers in the cars, crash mode and aftertouch takedowns etc...

I find the game excellent, I have played for 46 hours now and still want to go home from work to have a road rage or race to progress further and unlock all the cars, still 48 races to go to Elite.

I dont actually think the no people thing is a problem, it was more of a joke it being "spooky" and all. The game for me is just not as fun as the old burnouts. Its down to the open city races. With it being so fast I dont want to have to worry about getting the right route while im trying to not hit traffic.

It does innovate in different areas, the menu less nature is interesting and the way it intergrates online does work on the whole very well. The engine is very nice. But I just cant get over it not being as fun as the one before it when i see it sitting there next to it in my slipcase.

PS showtime sucks. :p

PPS DJ Atmoica is annoying as the beggars in Assassins creed.

That is the most annoying thing along with not being able to exit the race when you bum it up

a) Puts you back on the road after a crash, in the middle of a tense racing, facing the side of the road or a wall.

b) Everything is a huge drama. Clip the bumper on a car? Watch a 10 second video of your car flying 500000 feet through the air whilst everyone else in the race finishes and has time to make coffee

c) Want to select a car? Sure, just want 5000 hours to watch every car in the world fall from the sky first

d) Satnav? Intermittant. Sometimes it works, sometimes it sends you completely retarded ways, sometimes it jumps from 5 miles to finish to 10 miles to finish.

OMG ARGHGHGHGHGHGHHGHGHG Controller = Wall

Hehe have to agree fox, after playing the demo and slightly bashing into cars with the annoying cut scenes every time really put me off paying £40 for it.
