Just completed COD4 and it didn't seem to take all that long. Is it a particularly short game or am i just expecting too much?

Yeah, it's a bit on the short side. I think they focussed on intense gameplay - e.g. the Pripyat level, instead of going for game length.

300 hours isn't exactly excessive....

add another 0 on that and that's still under my wow ./played :(

I know i should be ashamed but I'm strangely proud of it :D

Ah the good old days

Yeah the single player is very short when I played it but the epic set-pieces more than make up for it. I reckon I might play it for a second time on a harder difficulty.

The single player is short, can be completed in a day easily.

Multiplayer makes up for it, it's brilliant.

Best 3 hours you can can spend infront of a pc without using the internet!

Its an awesome game very addictive and reasonably short, the sniper mission is absolutely awesome and the quality of the lighting and graphics stunned me (it looks almost like live video during some points).

I too will play again on a harder difficulty level when I get the chance.

COD4 is more of a movie/game than an out and out game, this to me makes it very original and unique and will be eagerly awaiting COD5 ;)

Completed in about 24 hrs then? Thats a long game to me lol ( Just kidding)
I was also considering buying this game,But would you say the single player is less then 6hrs?

It should if you have the time take you Three hours start to finish with one sitting, dont let this put you off though because the Short time span doesnt detract from the game atall in any way. Its worth every penny and replay is as good as the first time. High in the top ten best games released within the last ten years and only 2 or 3 slots behind HL2.

a lot of people are saying it's short, but is this on the easiest or the hardest setting?
I played the game straight away on the hardest setting and I felt that this added more to the time spent as well as to the value of the game because it required more from me.

if I had played it on the easiest setting, then yes I'd prob get through it in 1 night in a few hours.

The game is fantastic, it looks great and on the hardest setting you'll struggle on the levels. And if anyone says that the end level on the plane is easy on the hardest setting is clearly not being honest as it required some excellent aim and speed on my part just to get past it, which I loved as it was a great challenge.

Which setting did you play it on?
