I bought a Roku express stick today on sale as i fancied having it connected to my system for when im bored gaming.
Its connected via the hdmi port on my ASUS ROG SWIFT PG278Q.
All seemed to be going well except i cant hear any sound has anyone connected one of these to their pc sucessfully?

You might need to change what the Roku outputs - TV's and other AV devices will accept Bitstream, Dolby Digital etc, DTS etc. The ROG being a PC monitor may just be expecting PCM rather than any of the different formats.

IIRC there are no speakers on the PG278Q - I can't remember if it has headphone out.

I've also found the early G-Sync monitors with both DP and HDMI had problems with audio - can't remember if it was only supported and actually working on DP or if having both connected knocked audio out entirely.

There are speakers listed in the audio output, ROG PG278Q (2- NVIDIA High Definition Audio ) there is also a headphone port on the monitor itself, havent tried it yet though.

Update, tried the headphone input on the monitor and it works..the sounds pretty poor quality but at least its something.
