Is EYEfinity a Gimmick??

Personally I prefer maximum settings and 60+FPS to 30fps medium settings in super widescreen!

ATI were very poor though considering this is only something purchased by the hard core gamer (who will have 3+ GPUs) and thats something it simply doesn't work with. I'm not sure it ever will given ATI's legendarily bad driver team.

I completely agree mate, have a decent size monitor that has 1920 x 1200 (1080) resolution is ample. The PC is not struggling for frames and you can play with everything maxxed... thats where gaming is at.

Eyefinity is a specialised set up in my opinion. Dont get me wrong, I think its fantastic, but I would wait for a few more generations of cards to be released before a thought of getting a set up like that. I couldn't bare the performnce hit and the arseing about with drivers etc...
 
I do agree that it's great for racing games. SOME fps games work ok, mainly source ones, but most RTS games either don't work, or give extremely low FPS like Dawn of War II

I do think in a few years it will be sorted and video cards will have the juice to play games at their best in max details.

I used to play Dragon Age a lot using Eyefinity, but from one day to the next i was never sure if it was going to work properly (and thats an official Eyefinity supported game!)
