Hi all

Currently running DDR5 6400 RAM. Is it worth moving to faster 7200/7600 or faster ram yet. My board supposedly supports up to 8200

Whats the thoughts on this

Maybe the lower latency stuff but no the higher speeds don't gain that much in general. Stability is more likely to suffer.

Hardly any difference in gaming. Lower latency 6400 ddr5 holds up fine.
Could try overclocking yours to 7200 if it’s Hynix A or M die.

So the responses so far are correct, it’s a waste of money for AMD or Intel systems.

6400 MT/s is fast enough.

Once you get past that, you’re making things complicated for a small performance improvement.

Take your current RAM and try tighten the timings / manually increase the speed - most current RAM kits can do a little OC which will cost you nothing but a days tweaking and another days stability testing.

Use TM5 with the ANTA777 extreme preset (google for download links) and I’ll post an OC guide to guide you through DDR5 overclocking

well having seen the answers on here and elsewhere, decided to stick with what I have . I decided to improve my system drive so bought a bigger crucial T500 to replace my 1tb Fanxiang drive. Hopefully will see some faster loading times etc etc.
