Hey guys,

Looking at a new build in the next coming months. A little treat to myself for landing a new job and getting married :P

I've currently got two 27" AOC IPS monitors that I think are great, but seeing and reading all the hype around G-Sync has certainly got me thinking maybe I should look into it.

For those that have it, is the experience worth the price tag that comes with it? Or should I stick to my current monitor setup?

I think it will depend person to person but for me yeah absolutely - amongst other things I've been able to go back and play games that are limited to 60fps that I just simply couldn't deal with before.

Yes.

I no longer have to spend time adjusting game settings to try to maintain 60fps. As long as the framerate stays above ~45fps, games run smoothly.

Yes.

I think Gsync (and freesync/ the basic new 'sync' principle) is already established and should be considered essential for any new gaming monitor purchase today.

We'll look back in a few years and consider it madness to have been without.

Yes.

I wouldn't be without it now, makes any frame rate drops hardly noticeable and much smoother throughout. I thought I had to compromise and either deal with the input lag of v sync or try and ignore the tearing, not any more :D

I own both a freesync and gsync system. I far prefer the Gsync monitor/GPU simply because I like playing games in fullscreen windowed mode, which is something only Gsync can do.

Freesync only works in Fullscreen exclusive mode - meaning if you want to do something on another monitor while your gaming (alt tabbing etc) you have a wait a few seconds to exit fullscreen, it's extremely annoying. With Gsync you just alt tab out instantly.
