Is Google Drive secure?

I have been considering a NAS or HP Microserver for a while now but have decided that i don't really need it as cloud storage would be fine. I'm thinking about the 25gb Google Cloud option for $4.99 per month. Is Google Drive secure though? Company accounts files would be the most sensitive files.

Interesting that there seems to be a clear split in opinions here. The way i see it, there are two options:

1) Pay £200+ for a synology NAS and HDD and have the possibility of slow transfer over wifi (I tried a cheap Zyxel NSA310 and the transfer rates were ridiculously slow)

2) Pay $2.49/month for 25gb on Google Drive.

if security on cloud services isn't an issue, it's a no-brainer. I considered using TrueCrypt to set up an encrypted volume on the Google Drive but didn't know if this would cause sync problems. If i do that, will it sync properly and can i just mount the volume as normal with TrueCrypt?
