As the title says i have a Antec HCG Gold 750W 80 Plus Gold Modular Power that's 3 years old. Just upgrading my system and when my CPU and GPU and all fans are maxed running flat out the computer is using 650W. Am i sailing a bit to close to the line here ?

Eh? Are you sure? That seems really excessive for a 2700X and 2070 Super.

It's not normal for the CPU and GPU to be maxed out simultaneously, gaming will usually be nowhere near the max power draw of either component, so if you're getting that figure from e.g. Prime + Furmark, then I really wouldn't worry about it.

It's a good PSU, and is definitely capable of running at the full 750W without an issue, so 650W shouldn't be a problem.

When tested, Kitguru found that it was capable of supplying 815W before protection kicked in, so should be more than fine.

Where are you getting your power draw from because 650w for your pc is rather excessive. When I had a 9600K overclocked to 5Ghz along with high end custom watercooling with two D5 pumps, 8x 120mm fans, 4x 200mm fans, 2x fan controllers along with temp sensors and LED lighting my whole pc drew just under 400w at the wall on full load. Now that I have a 12600 and back on air cooling my max load has dropped to around 350w and my 3070 draws more power than your card so 650w seems unrealistic. In any case you have a high quality PSU that could deliver 750w all day long so I wouldn't be worried about it not coping.

Was using a smart plug with power monitoring and also my ups readout. Also was running Prime 95 and benching an OC 2080 ti FE. So all 5 fans maxed out as well.

That 650W is the draw from the wall, right? So if it's drawing 650W from the wall and is 80% efficient then it's outputting 520W to your PC's components. Well under the 750W it's rated to push, It's not a problem.

It's more like 91-92% efficient, but that still puts it far below the 750W rated output.
