Is it an Access Point I Need?

Hello guys.

Moved into the in-laws hosuehold. They have a Netgear router, unfortunately the wireless reception in their house is poor. They also already have network cabling from the router running into most parts of the house. Can I just buy a wireless access point, plug in into the end of one of the network cables, and get instant wifi?

And does anyone have any products that they could recommend?

Yep, that's exactly what you need. In terms of a recommendation, I use a Netgear WG602 (v4, if that makes a difference) and it's always worked flawlessly.
