I have a AMD4000 the fan on the cooler is getting a little noisy. So I have considered getting one of these:

Zalman CNPS9500-LED Aero Flower (Socket 939/754/478/775) CPU Cooler (HS-015-ZA)

However although I have fitted many new PC parts such as GFX, HDD, RAM and PSU. I have never fitted a CPU or cooler. Is it straightforward? Does everything just unclip, wipe old thermal paste off, replace paste and clip new cooler on with ease?

Not all coolers are the same, some just clip on and some screw on. The one you have chosen screws on, you may have to remove the back plate on the motherboard and put a new one on to screw the cooler on.

Look on the zalman site for that cooler there might be instructions for it or a installation video.

It's a lot easier if you have good access to the MB (removalble tray or just remove the MB for the job). I changed CPUs and had to re-fit my XP120 in-situ in a Lian Li V2000 case, I'd take the MB out if I had to do it again!

I have that cooler and it fits fairly easily. A little bit of advice beofre you start though ... as the tightening screws are below the 'flower', you can't get at them vertically, so you'll need a LONG screwdriver to be able to tighten them easily (I'm talking ~20cms).

Thanks all :) Don't want to remove mobo again (had a disaster last time... I killed it) so any advice on one that is easy and no mobo removal please :)
