Is it ever acceptable to key a car?

Just wondering what people thoughts are on this, if someone parks a car in a completely inconsiderate manner would you feel it acceptable to key the car as punishment?

I live in a gated development with 250 apartments (400ish parking spaces) there is only one entrance to the building / underground car park (it’s close to impossible to find street parking). Now one night I got home relatively late with quite a few bags to carry and some reknaw had parked halfway accursed the entrance which potentially prevented 400 people from getting into the car park.

I really wanted to get security to switch off the cctv and take out my frustration on the car however my girlfriend was not having any of it so we got the car towed.

I know a few people living in London who regularly get blocked into the drive way because someone has parked in front of a private drive way, the council don’t really do anything.

so yes or no?

its perfectly acceptable when someones parked on the path to drag your wheelchair down the side of it ;)

LOL I remember that thread.

I know it’s wrong and I did not do it however sometimes I wonder what people are thinking when they willfully obstruct driveways because they can’t find anywhere to park

Its always best to talk to the drive however they are not normally standing around the car they just parked in your driveway lol :p

As I said I did not do it, I know it is wrong but it did feel rather good seeing it get pulled away by the police :D

Its a shame it only cost him 40 GBP to get it back.

Rubbish, his bird could have easily stopped him doing it. If he was by himself he probably would have done it, I don't think you get anything other than that impression from his post.

Err... :p

Lol well the little voice in the back of my head would never actually let me do it:), it just makes me incredibly angry when people do things like this, getting it towed is good enough.

If I wanted to key the car it would not really be hard as it is only a 200m walk from my front door to the entrance of the development, so dropping the miss’s home and taking a short walk with keys in hand is really not that difficult.

Parking is difficult around here which is why I had to stump up 21 000 pounds for my parking spaces, it’s nice to actually be able to use them. Parking the car on the street is not an option because:

1 its close to impossible to find a parking space

2 there is a very good chance it would be stolen over night.

This guy would have deliberately parked the car there because there is no possible way you would not know it’s a driveway as it has a 6/7m high electric doors and a lowered curb, cameras and a big sign + lights.

If I met the drive I would happy take it up with him however people don’t stand next to the car after parking it, it’s a residential area so if a car is parked outside at night chances are it will not move until the morning.

I once parked my car on a disabled space by accident (sign was covered by a tree and there where no markings on the ground) my car was towed and I half expected to find my tyres slashed because it was an incredibly inconsiderate thing to do and I still feel bad to this day. Disabled parking spaces are assigned to individual residents so some poor disabled bloke would have had to walk for ages to get home :(
