That would really bug the hell out of me.
As others have said though just unplug it, and tuck it away out of sight.

The antec 300 does have realy short front panel cables, so short in fact thats the only way it would reach, it was the same in mine. I drilled a hole in the MB tray,and routed it through the back, so it didn't go over my MB. You could try this assuming its the HD audio or are you using or is it the other 1(ac9)?

Don't know to be honest, I unplugged it now and just used electrical tape and taped it to the bottom out the way.
Plugged my headphones into the sound card at the back, hope this is correct.

Yep thanks will keep that in mind, all seems to be working fine so it looks like I havent enabled the self destruction button
on your soundcard their is a connector that looks the same as the one on the motherboard you pulled the cable from, plug the connector into that and you will have your front audio again
as you are using a soundcard this is where it should be plugged anyway and not into the motherboard.
i'd also move your soundcard down to the next pci slot and not have it right up against your gfx card.
