Is it me or did EE just get really aggressive in pricing?

OK - someone has broken their website publishing statements as per the title of this thread :D

I'm in last month of a Three contract and on the fence as to go Three or EE sim only. 2 months ago I'd not have given it a thought and stayed with Three. Now Three's data service has gone right downhill in my area.

So checking out EE payg and they don't seem too bad. Who ever I sign with I'll go sim free 30 days rather than lock into a year.

With Three I've had no problems with phone calls dropping or missed calls (when there is a signal). Doing a search of EE brings up a raft of people fed up with EE and dropped calls and missed calls. Anyone currently on EE care to comment on how phone calls are for them with EE? Cheers

I'm on EE and I work in TS21 region and their data absolutely sucks, carrier pigeon is quicker

I'm finding EE's 3g (no 4G here) not much better than Three and to move and add call dropping to my tariff would rather be shooting myself in the foot  EE were no where near Three who often were better than my home broadband .... but no more

IIRC Three used a lot of t-mobiles towers so I wouldn't be surprised if things where much the same on EE.

They look pretty bad to me! £12.99 for only 100MB of data?!

This morning the website was showing a tariff of 20gb for £24. It was a mistake though. I managed to get a better deal in the end - I doubled my data allowance and saved £5.

On the old site, it listed an additional shared 4GEE SIM for £5 p/m when on a 24-month contract, but with no mention of the price for 12-month or 1-month contracts. However, I can no longer see any reference here: http://shop.ee.co.uk/sharer-bundles . I could phone the helpline as recommended, but to avoid ambiguity I'd prefer to see it written in one of the updated PDFs.

Therefore, when combined with broadband, the 100MB / 500 mins / 500 texts package would offer 10GB for 1 person (or shared amongst 4 people for an increased cost) for £9.99 p/m for a 12-month contract or £12.99 for a 1-month contract.

EE's website is terrible. It seems that this guide that was valid from 30th October 2013 and showed minimum data allowances of 500MB and 4GB ( http://e-gain.s3.amazonaws.com/external/content/Ts and Cs/Shared_4GEE_Plans_post301013.pdf ) is no longer valid as the site now states, "from as little as 1GB to as much as 20GB per month" ( http://ee.co.uk/help/add-ons-benefi.../shared-4gee-plans/what-is-a-shared-4gee-plan ).

However, it seems as though there are no no additional charges:

If you're already an EE customer, it's easy to convert your existing 4GEE phone plan into a Shared 4GEE Plan. Your existing plan will become the 'Leader'* and its data allowance can then be shared...

*To become a Leader, an EE customer's existing contract must meet the following minimum requirements: 12 or 18 month 4GEE phone plan or 4GEE with roaming plan (24 months), with 750MB data allowance or above.

http://ee.co.uk/help/add-ons-benefi...ared-4gee-plans/how-to-get-a-shared-4gee-plan

The 12-month £16.99 for 1GB / 1,000 mins / unlimited texts would appear to fulfil that criteria. (This appears to be out-of-date: http://ee.co.uk/content/dam/ee-help...xternal/content/Ts and Cs/EE_PAYM_SIMO_v5.pdf )

It's not just the data allowance that is shared, the help site (which seems to refer to the older deals) indicate that the airtime and text allowance is shared as well:

Will a Shared 4GEE Plan work with my old phone or device?

Yes, although you might need to unlock it to use it with an EE SIM. You'll still get your unlimited calls and texts and access to your shared data allowance.

4G Phone SIM** - to be inserted into a 4G-ready mobile phone you already own. You'll get access to the 4GEE network, your shared data allowance, unlimited calls and texts and EE WiFi hotspots.

Separate to -Mike- 's warning, it seems the 10GB data boost is not as attractive as I first thought:

Boost your data to 10GB: Subject to minimum terms. Must sign up to a fixed broadband and mobile 4GEE pay monthly phone plan at the same time. Offer excludes SIM only plans. Data boost may not be carried across after the minimum term of your mobile 4GEE pay monthly plan expires or to any upgrade, renewal or change of plan.

Also, it seems as though EE have finally added Call Forwarding to their Home Phone Service:

Call Diversion comes as part of our Home Phone services with calling features included.

Divert all calls

Divert calls you do not answer in 15 seconds

Divert calls when you are engaged

these ee price are nothing to write home about to say the least.

£37 for 20GB and unlimited call and unlimited text. Unless you are chatty teenager, who needs unlimited calls and txt?

I will jump on the band wagon when it becomes 1GB allowance per £1 of phone bill.

That's pretty much what I would want. and expect

I quite often get dropped calls with EE, both on my iPhone 5 and my LG G2. This is with full signal. It's not a huuuge problem but it's enough to make me wish I went with three.
