or is there a mega delay recently on O2 text messages?

From Voda and 3, specifically.

When my fone rings, I'll suddenly get a few txts through. Maybe it's just my fone (3GS)?

Whatever it is, it's starting to do my swede in!

/rant

I often text a work mate on the way to work and on several occassions he doesn't receive the message until around an hour later or after making a phone call. This is from T Mobile to O2, he is also on a 3GS.

i get this a lot on my iphone 3gs on O2 my partner will txt me and then ring me an hour later and ask if i got her txt.
But while im on the phone to her the txt will come through

Yeh, I'm getting the same. People wondering why I aint replied and they only come through when they ring to whinge about it :p

lol thats what i ment just said it the long way round.
I think its something to do with O2 and the iphone,
Also im on the unlimited txt unlimited calls and unlimited net,
Maybe its something to do with the unlimited txt bundle,

Are you on that plan?

The missus phone used to suffer big time for delayed texts & missed call alerts, I told her to go to voda they said it was a multi media incoming that had clogged it up. Rebooted it fine.

I think I get this sometimes. Someone will contact me via other means and ask if I got their txt, then I send a txt or ring someone and they start flooding in afterwards.

I get this aswell on O2 with a 3GS, but only in bad signal areas. If I'm in an area with only 1-3 bars of edge or GPRS I won't receive texts sometimes, and will only receive them when I move to an area with 4-5 bars at least or 3G. This can be 5/6 hours later though.

Must be just down to bad signal I guess.

I get this every so often on O2 as well. It's hugely annoying and drives me up the wall.

Infact, frankly, I've found the O2 network to be pretty abysmal full stop. Text problems and the data network is terrible - often just NO throughput at all, and standing in the middle of Bath on Saturday resulted in...
... no 3G.

Couldn't agree more, my work phone is with O2 and the coverage is ****ing shocking.

Was in Derby yesterday and tried to check the news (left my Android handset in the office) and couldn't even get any kind of internet connection even though I was apparently on full 3G.

Awful.
